veles e vents, xarxa teatre (spain) fri 26 - sat 27 sept, 7.30pm, bowleaze coveway, weymouth

Following on from the dramatic success of Inside Out 2007 and its programme of extraordinary events in extraordinary places, comes Veles e Vents, a spectacular large-scale outdoor performance.  Presented at Bowleaze Coveway overlooking the London 2012 Games sailing course in Weymouth Bay Veles e Vents celebrates the launch of the Cultural Olympiad in Dorset.

The Cultural Olympiad is a four year celebration of the cultural and sporting life of the nation in the build up to the 2012 Games.  In the South West this will take the form of a series of journeys through the landscape, linking coast to mainland and urban to rural communities, in search of the extraordinary stories, people and places that define us. It will be the journey of a lifetime and this is a great opportunity to join in!

Inspired by both the beauty and the force of the sea, this Inside Out special event has been created by acclaimed Spanish artists Xarxa Teatre, who have been performing stunning open-air theatre for 25 years in over 30 countries worldwide. Local young people from Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth will also be involved, working with artists to create their own Stories of the Sea, which we'll be uploading to our gallery later.

The performance is FREE of charge however we will be collecting voluntary donations to help make future events possible.

You might like to arrive early to enjoy the panoramic views on the way to the event as dusk falls, but please allow plenty of time to get to the site whatever mode of transport you choose.  For more detailed information about travelling to this event, please click here.
