World War One ‘Welcome to Weymouth’ Cream Tea

Wed 11 July, 3pm - 5pm
Queen Charlotte Care Home, 432 Chickerell Rd, Weymouth DT3 4DQ

Join Activate Performing Arts and students from Budmouth College for an afternoon of WW1 reminiscence with tea and cakes. The event marks the important role that Montevideo House played in WW1, as the camp hospital in what was the principle Anzac camp in Dorset. When 200 Anzac soldiers arrived in June 1915 the Weymouth public greeted them with strawberries and cream tea, and we invite you to recreate this warmest of welcomes with us.
