Come with us on outdoor performance adventures across Dorset ...
The 2016 festival was a feast for the eyes, it began with Ray Lee’s mesmeric sound installation Chorus set atop the cliffs on the iconic Isle of Portland. The performance then transferred for the weekend to the splendid setting of Weymouth seafront.
We then travelled north to Gillingham, drawing capacity crowds where Dutch circus collective Le Cirque du Platzak wowed the audience with Kermiz, .
In a complete change of mood, we ventured into the ancient ceremonial landscape of the South Dorset Ridgeway with performers And Now: for Wayfaring, where fire and landscape and the notion of sacrifice met in a unique celebration of the end of summer and the Autumn Equinox.
Over the last weekend we returned to the coast for an all-day event of contemporary circus, performance and live music at Up in the Air in Poole’s Harbourside Park which ended with a spectacular firework finale.
The festival ended with Hengistbury Headlines in Bournemouth, an inspirational location used to site eight intriguing new commissions focused on climate change.
Over 24,000 people watched or participated and over a million pounds of economic activity was generated.
We hope you will join us for our future extraordinary events in extraordinary places.
